Ted Nugent’s Rant about Obama May Backfire, for Texas Governor Candidate

Ted Nugent Rant

If aging rock singer Ted Nugent wants to see a “subhuman mongrel”, he need not look any further than the mirror. His nastiness toward our president, Barack Obama is uncalled for and only confirms what a bigot he is.

Recently, in an interview, Nugent opened his mouth once again concerning our president, saying,

“I have obviously failed to galvanize and prod, if not shame enough Americans to be ever vigilant not to let a Chicago communist-raised, communist-educated, communist-nurtured subhuman mongrel like the acorn community organizer gangster Barack Hussein Obama to weasel his way into the top office of authority in the United States of America.”

I would like to make clear to Nugent that Obama did not weasel his way into office; he was elected by a majority of Americans, two times against two different Republican nominees. The offhand remark about “the acorn community organizer gangster” reveals much about the bigotry that burns in that old rocker’s gut. Obama did nothing to deserve such flaming rhetoric, so it is obvious where Ted gets his hatred.

Texas candidate Greg Abbott invited Ted Nugent to speak for him at an event held at a Denton Restaurant, in hopes to drum up the far right-wing of the Republican Party’s base. The invite was successful, as Ted Nugent is a favorite to those who hate our current president. Nugent has often voiced his opinion about President Obama, even to the point of being questioned by the Secret Service after making a threatening comment concerning Obama winning a second term in office.

“If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year,” said the has-been rocker.

Obviously, Nugent is a blowhard who seems to have a serious case of diarrhea of the mouth, as he is neither dead nor in jail.

The Texas governor candidate might think that he has helped his candidacy by inviting this pariah of nature called Ted Nugent, but hopefully the good people of Texas, those who do not listen to the garbage coming out of Nugent’s mouth, will be motivated to come out in droves this election to vote for the Democratic candidate Wendy Davis. She would be good for the state of Texas, as she would for one thing, expand Medicaid through the Affordable Care Act and help the many poor residents of Texas finally to have some decent health care, which they have not gotten under current governor Rick Perry.

Texas is on its way to becoming a purple state as it is, being that the Hispanic population is growing year by year. The heavy gerrymandering that has gone on in the state by mostly Republican candidates will eventually fail to muster the votes to keep sending Tea Party favorites to Washington.

The most striking thing about Ted Nugent to me personally is the comparison I see between him and Barack Obama. President Obama has a stellar personality, a fine character and he is a faithful and loyal family man. Ted Nugent on the other hand has none of those traits. Instead, he has a potty mouth, a nasty disposition and he shows himself to be a bigot in my opinion. Nugent would do well if he could be even half the man Barack Obama is, and most assuredly, that will never happen.

Like many Americans, I am certain, it would be a godsend if old Ted Nugent could go somewhere and disappear into obscurity so that we would never have to listen to his ranting and raving again. However, there is an upside to that big mouth of Ted’s; consistently showing up somewhere to speak his small mind and that is the reminder to voters just how far right and how racist those from the far right can be.

The presidency of Barack Obama has not been anymore out of the mainstream than any other presidency before it. Yet, many Republican politicians and pundits, along with all the loudmouths like Nugent, continue to deny that Obama’s race has anything to do with their hate of him, but in my years of paying attention to politics, I have never seen this level of unwarranted personal attack on a president. With the birthers and those calling Obama a secret Muslim, and a terrorist all this without one ounce of reasonable fact, to me points to racism.

Ted Nugent is a perfect poster boy for that racism. Any politician who uses him to speak on his or her behalf is obviously calling out all the bigots within the GOP to support them. There certainly no other reason to do so.  What Greg Abbott may not count on is the level of distaste that many Americans have for bigotry and the personal attacks on any sitting president, but especially the first African-American president. Let us hope they speak with a loud voice in Texas this election, and everywhere else, and stop politicians like Abbott from using racism to gain a seat in power they obviously do not deserve.
